We interrupt our regularly scheduled VR series to bring you news of my hardware struggle. My Asus Slate died recently. I aspire to one day own a Wacom Cintiq Companion. Until then, I spend countless hours researching which PC Tablets might be nearly as good in my price range of nearly no money (writing a book is a long play wager). Unfortunately many PC Tablets have dropped Wacom tech integration in favor of bulky, laggy, battery-powered bluetooth pens. Case in point, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. In a previous post I mistakenly informed readers that it was the Pro 4 which first discontinued its use of Wacom digitizer technology. In reality you have to throw all the way back to the Pro 2 in order to get decent digitizer tech. So far my research suggests that it and the Asus b121 are the last tenable digital sculpting tools in the sub $1K department. The search continues…
