In the last WCIGAWW post, I examined whether or not addon domains were viable, initially concluding that they were not. I remained open-minded to the possibility that either I or my host had done something wrong however. As it turns out something hadn’t only been done wrong, but hadn’t been done at all! According to my very helpful host, CNAME hadn’t been specified in the DNS settings (why that wasn’t accomplished automatically when specifying the addon I’ll never know).
So, if you want to save some money by hosting two sites in one, addons are a viable solution. If you’re not familiar with the process, have your host help walk you through it.
