Unity offers a plethora of good free #gamedev assets. Their Sample Projects page is especially useful for finding development learning resources (that being said, learning and using state machine technology, particularly Playmaker, is far more quick and efficient). Their free art assets are really good too, with the quality corresponding to how recently they’ve been released. One of their relatively recent releases,
“The Blacksmith: Characters,” is especially nice:
